Maya was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer in August. The oncology team at Los Angeles Cancer Centre has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in November. She will be away from work for about 6 weeks. Maya is 43, worked as a tailor until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Los Angeles Cancer Centre 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes. Where the $8,750 goes: • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $570 • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $5,500 • Transport to Los Angeles Cancer Centre: $1,050 • Scans and lab work: $1,630 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
