The landslide hit the Harbor district on 12 December. My home was one of 57 damaged, and 3 families are still in temporary shelter at the community hall. The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming. Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before. We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy. We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates. Where the $800 goes: • Tools and labor for repairs: $310 • Clean water and purification supplies: $115 • Roofing sheets and timber: $375 Every share and every dollar helps.

Updates from Akello

Good news. Because of your gifts ($177 in total) I made the first payment toward clean water and purification supplies. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
Quick update: $127 raised so far (16%). we've started the first stage. Receipts coming as soon as I have them.
