Mangesh was diagnosed with early-stage lung cancer in January. The oncology team at the Surat Oncology Institute has planned 4 rounds of treatment, starting in March. He will be away from work for about 10 weeks. Mangesh is 54, worked as a primary school teacher until January, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Surat Oncology Institute 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $1,850 goes: • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $1,250 • Scans and lab work: $240 • Transport to the Surat Oncology Institute: $160 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $70 • Household costs while unable to work: $130 Glad we found this place. - Tejas
