Auckland

Since 2021, our volunteer team has run Bread & Beans Kitchen every Friday from the back of the old library basement. We started with 18 families, and now we feed 179 each week. Donations have dropped by about 51% this school holidays, while the line has grown every single week. We rely on volunteers - 13 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Auckland market and keep every receipt. Each $40 feeds a family of four for a week. I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday. Where the $2,500 goes: • Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $880 • Fresh vegetables and fruit: $730 • Baby formula and diapers: $610 • Refrigeration and electricity: $280 You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

Updates from Viliami

We're at 11% thanks to 7 of you. I made the first payment toward baby formula and diapers. More news soon.
Small update. $140 so far, the plan for rice, beans, flour and oil is now scheduled.
10% there. I met with the wholesaler and confirmed the amounts. Thank you.
