Feed 149 families each week at Community Pantry in Anaheim

The Community Pantry pantry in Anaheim is running low just as demand rises; $2,150 will stock it for 8 weeks.

Since 2023, our volunteer team has run Community Pantry every Thursday from the back of a community center. We started with 11 families, and now we feed 149 each week. Donations have dropped by about 34% this winter, while the line has grown every single week. We rely on volunteers - 16 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Anaheim market and keep every receipt. Each $35 feeds a family of four for a week. I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday. Where the $2,150 goes: • Baby formula and diapers: $410 • Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $810 • Fresh vegetables and fruit: $930 Every share and every dollar helps. - Amparo

Hope things get better soon, Amparo. Shared this with my family. After 12 years in social work I know how hard it's to ask for anything.
