Independence for Alicja: cochlear implant processor upgrade
Alicja needs a cochlear implant processor upgrade that the health system won't fund; the cost is $2,250.

I live with a spinal cord injury. My occupational therapist at Katowice General Hospital has assessed me and recommended a cochlear implant processor upgrade. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $2,250.
My current equipment is 12 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 8 weeks.
With the right equipment I could speak with the people around her. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered.
Where the $2,250 goes:
• cochlear implant processor upgrade: $2,050
• Fitting and training sessions: $75
• Delivery and set-up: $60
• First-year servicing plan: $65
Glad we found this place.
