A community fridge: a volunteer-led effort in Fort Worth
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a community fridge - we need $1,950 for materials.
🇺🇸 United States1,308 views
For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a community fridge. This year a group of 22 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Pioneer Primary School, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $1,950.
It will serve about 221 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in July and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $1,950 goes:
• Materials: $1,050
• Permits and inspections: $185
• Safety equipment and signage: $320
• Tools hire and delivery: $395
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.
