Since 2022, our volunteer team has run the Second Helping every Thursday from the back of a borrowed garage. We started with 18 families, and now we feed 115 each week. Donations have dropped by about 52% this summer, while the line has grown every single week. We rely on volunteers - 9 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Warsaw market and keep every receipt. Each $20 feeds a family of four for a week. All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs. Where the $1,450 goes: • Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $770 • Fresh vegetables and fruit: $450 • Baby formula and diapers: $140 • Refrigeration and electricity: $90 Every share and every dollar helps. - Teresa

  1. Quick update: $886 raised so far (61%). we've booked the dates and paid the deposit. Receipts coming as soon as I have them.

  2. Good news. Because of your gifts ($446 in total) I made the first payment toward rice, beans, flour and oil. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
