For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a playground. This year a group of 22 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Unity bus depot, but no funding. We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $650. It will serve about 490 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $650 goes: • Tools hire and delivery: $65 • Permits and inspections: $40 • Materials: $545 Thank you so much.

    • So sorry you're going through this, Aylin. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. God bless.
