Melanie's school year: uniform, books and a laptop
Melanie won a place at Munich Technical College but the family cannot afford the uniform, books and laptop required.

I earned a place in Grade 9 at Munich Technical College, and I couldn't be prouder. The school has a long list of things I need, including a laptop for the graphic design course, and a uniform.
My mother works two jobs, and the list costs $1,000, which is more than we have.
I love graphic design and want to become a teacher. A laptop will let me do coursework at home instead of waiting for library hours.
I'll take care of everything you give me and I promise to work hard.
I'll buy the items from the school's approved supplier and post photos of everything.

• School uniform and shoes: $180
• Textbooks and workbooks: $165
• Calculator, stationery and a school bag: $85
