Courtney, my mother, passed away on 12 May after a road accident. She was 37 years old. She was the heart of our family and had no savings or life insurance.
The funeral home has given us a quote of $2,600 and the cemetery needs payment before the burial date of 28 May.
I have already used what I had for the hospital bills. My family is scattered, and many of us are out of work. We want Courtney to have a dignified farewell.
Any help at all means a lot, and so do your prayers.
Anything left over after the funeral will be donated to the San Jose hospice.

• Transport of the deceased: $500
• Cemetery plot and burial fees: $1,650
• Memorial gathering for the family: $450
