Companionship wanted: Madeline's gardening and a cup of tea

Looking for a friendly person in San Diego to visit Madeline once a week.

I'm writing for my neighbor Madeline, who's 72. Madeline lives alone in San Diego, and lost a son last year. The nearest family lives 576 kilometers away. Madeline loves gardening, and would enjoy someone to chat with. An hour a week, perhaps on Thursday afternoon, would mean the world. We can also arrange a phone call if you can't visit in person. All visitors will be introduced by me and I'll be there at the first meeting. I'll share references and, if you'd like, a short orientation from the local befriending charity. No special skills are needed - just kindness and patience. Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

  • Keep going, Denise. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Thinking of San Diego.

    • I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. God bless!

      • Wishing Madeline a smooth procedure and a full recovery. Blessings

        • Hope it all works out, Denise. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did.

          • rooting for you, Denise. Get well soon. I went through something like this 5 years ago and strangers helped me out. Greetings from Leeds.
