Clean air and water for Corpus Christi: restoring the Liberty canal
Help us clean and replant the Liberty canal before the November planting window closes.
🇺🇸 Texas, United States2,499 views
The Liberty canal has been used as an informal dump for years. This July, 93 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 183 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the municipal water board, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
We'll post planting day photos and a count of every sapling planted.
Where the $2,750 goes:
• Native saplings and stakes: $1,400
• Tools and protective gear: $540
• Waste removal and skip hire: $670
• Signage and educational materials: $140
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

Hang in there, Clara. Great idea, hope you get there. Don't be hard on yourself for asking
So sorry you're going through this, Clara. This could happen to any of us. Greetings from Depok.
Your post was clear and honest. Thinking of Corpus Christi.
Take care. Your post was clear and honest. After 28 years in nursing I know how hard it's to ask for anything.
Best of luck, Clara. Shared it with a few friends. Love from Gdynia
wishing you the best, Clara. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. It's not much but it's yours. Love from Mumbai
