I live with a spinal cord injury. My occupational therapist at Medellín General Hospital has assessed me and recommended a prosthetic leg. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $150.
My current equipment is 10 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 10 weeks.
With the right equipment I could join the school sports day. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $150 goes:
• First-year servicing plan: $50
• Fitting and training sessions: $40
• Delivery and set-up: $60
