I'm caring for my father, who's 74. After the death of his spouse Terry can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Terry desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 40 hours a week and have cut back to look after him, but we need a part-time carer.
Terry worked all of his life as a nurse, and raised 5 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for eight months will make a huge difference.
The carer will be employed through a registered agency and paid directly. I'll share the agency invoices.

• Part-time carer (eight months): $2,800
• Medication and prescriptions: $750
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $380
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $520

Part-time carer (eight months) is $2,800 of it. Everything else is listed in the story and nothing outside that list comes out of this page. Fair thing to want to know.
