Care for Elke, 75: help cover a carer and medication in Dortmund
Elke, 75, needs daily care to stay at home, and the family is raising $3,750 for a carer and medicines.

I'm caring for my mother, who's 75. After a stroke last September Elke can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Elke desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 50 hours a week and have cut back to look after her, but we need a part-time carer.
Elke worked all of her life as a nurse, and raised 4 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for eight months will make a huge difference.
The carer will be employed through a registered agency and paid directly. I'll share the agency invoices.
Where the $3,750 goes:
• Part-time carer (eight months): $2,550
• Medication and prescriptions: $670
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $135
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $395

Thanks for sharing this, Dieter. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Wish I lived closer to Stockholm so I could bring a meal.
