I'm caring for my mother, who's 87. After a stroke last August Camilla can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Camilla desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 30 hours a week and have cut back to look after her, but we need a part-time carer.
Camilla worked all of her life as a farmer, and raised 2 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for eight months will make a huge difference.
Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies.
Where the $3,850 goes:
• Medication and prescriptions: $510
• Part-time carer (eight months): $3,150
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $190

is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Camilla.
