Build a wheelchair ramp for Wafula in Kinondoni
Help Wafula regain independence: a simple ramp build.
🇹🇿 Dar es Salaam, Tanzania178 views
Wafula has used a wheelchair since 2023, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Wafula can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the local accessibility standard of 1:12 slope, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate twelve hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Wafula's family will cook lunch for the team.

you're not alone. I hope things turn around soon. Sent it to 21 people at work. Blessings.
Hope the doctors have good news. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Greetings from Kanpur.
Take care, Akello. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. All the best.
Take care. Get well soon. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. Take care.
