For three years the neighborhood has asked for a youth football pitch. This year a group of 24 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Baobab bus depot, but no funding. We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $300. It will serve about 246 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $300 goes: • Materials: $250 • Safety equipment and signage: $40 • Permits and inspections: $10 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.
