Pilar is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying a master's in public health at Ciudad de México Polytechnic, and is one semester away from graduating. She has worked as a night-shift cleaner to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $1,600.
The registrar has said Pilar can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Pilar has a distinction average, and an academic advisor has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Pilar would lose her place and scholarship eligibility.
Pilar isn't asking for a handout - She wants to finish what She started and help the next student.
Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees.
Where the $1,600 goes:
• Outstanding tuition balance: $790
• Final term tuition: $740
• Exam and lab fees: $25
• Textbooks and materials: $45
I hope life is good to you.

You're not alone, Esteban. Good luck with the exams, you've got this. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry.
Wishing you peace. I hope things turn around soon. Love from Caloocan
is there anything that isn't money that would help Pilar?
Thank you. If you're in Ciudad de México I'll say if something practical comes up. For now sharing this is great. Thanks for looking so closely.
everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. My brother had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. God bless
Thinking of you and your family. Gave what I could, wish it was more. I hope September is when things finally get easier. Love from Mombasa.
