Help Adhiambo with an overdue electricity bill before the cold months
Help Adhiambo cover an overdue electricity bill so the household stays safe this the cold months.
🇰🇪 Kenya405 views
The electricity account is 4 months behind. Adhiambo received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on November unless $150 is paid. She had never been late before losing my job in August.
Adhiambo called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $20 first, which isn't available.
The household includes a newborn, and going through the cold months without electricity isn't safe. The children would have no light to study by.
Adhiambo is working on getting back on her feet, and wants to pay it forward once steady.
The money will go directly to the utility provider, and I'll post the paid statement here.
Where the $150 goes:
• Electricity arrears: $70
• Reconnection and late fees: $35
• Down payment on a payment plan: $45
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

Sending good thoughts. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double

Sending good thoughts, Daniel. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. After 27 years in customer support I know how hard it's to ask for anything.
Best of luck. Looking forward to the next update. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. God bless.
