A youth football pitch: a volunteer-led effort in Madurai
A community-led a youth football pitch at the Cedar vacant lot that will serve 476 neighbors.

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a youth football pitch. This year a group of 24 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Cedar vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $350.
It will serve about 476 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
