A repair café workshop for the old Liberty bus depot: help our neighbors in Manila
Volunteers in Manila are raising $650 for a repair café workshop at the old Liberty bus depot.

For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a repair café workshop. This year a group of 19 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Liberty bus depot, but no funding.
We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $650.
It will serve about 214 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $650 goes:
• Materials: $510
• Permits and inspections: $15
• Safety equipment and signage: $30
• Tools hire and delivery: $95
Thanks for being kind about this.

Hope things get better soon. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. I went through something like this 4 years ago and strangers helped me out. Thinking of Manila
