Cape Coast
For five years the neighborhood has asked for a community fridge. This year a group of 28 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Liberty vacant lot, but no funding. We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $500. It will serve about 158 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in March and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $500 goes: • Materials: $400 • Permits and inspections: $40 • Safety equipment and signage: $30 • Tools hire and delivery: $30 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support. - Sarah

  • good luck. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Sent it to 22 people at work. God bless.

    • Hang in there. I hope things turn around soon. I went through something like this 13 years ago and strangers helped me out. Take care
