A skate park for the old Liberty bus depot: help our neighbors in São Paulo
A community-led a skate park at the old Liberty bus depot that will serve 187 neighbors.
🇧🇷 São Paulo, São Paulo, BrazilPosted Jul 29, 20251,410 views
For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a skate park. This year a group of 16 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Liberty bus depot, but no funding.
We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $750.
It will serve about 187 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $750 goes:
• Materials: $600
• Tools hire and delivery: $85
• Safety equipment and signage: $65
Every share and every dollar helps.
