A sensory garden for children with autism: a volunteer-led effort in Nagpur
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a sensory garden for children with autism - we need $350 for materials.
🇮🇳 India760 views
For three years the neighborhood has asked for a sensory garden for children with autism. This year a group of 30 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Acacia bus depot, but no funding.
We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $350.
It will serve about 100 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $350 goes:
• Materials: $250
• Permits and inspections: $40
• Safety equipment and signage: $50
• Tools hire and delivery: $10
I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.

Stay strong, Naveen. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I hope November is when things finally get easier. Blessings.
So sorry you're going through this, Naveen. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I'm in engineering myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. All the best.
Hope you get there. Sent it to 32 people at work. Blessings.
Sending strength. More neighborhoods should do this. Thinking of Nagpur
