A rainwater harvesting system for the Lotus community hall: help our neighbors in Manila
A community-led a rainwater harvesting system at the Lotus community hall that will serve 475 neighbors.
🇵🇭 Metro Manila, Philippines1,106 views
For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 20 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Lotus community hall, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $150.
It will serve about 475 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in December and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $150 goes:
• Safety equipment and signage: $55
• Permits and inspections: $20
• Tools hire and delivery: $75
I hope life is good to you.

Rooting for you. I hope things turn around soon. Don't give up. Blessings.
hang in there. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust. Love from Cầu Giấy.
