A free library and reading room for the Acacia community hall: help our neighbors in La Plata
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a free library and reading room - we need $650 for materials.

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a free library and reading room. This year a group of 30 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Acacia community hall, but no funding.
We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $650.
It will serve about 428 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in December and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.

• Materials: $290
• Permits and inspections: $100
• Safety equipment and signage: $120
• Tools hire and delivery: $140
