Niluka, my grandmother, passed away on 15 April after a short illness. She was 24 years old. She was the heart of our family and had no savings or life insurance.
The funeral home has given us a quote of $900 and the cemetery needs payment before the burial date of 26 April.
I have already used what I had for the hospital bills. My family is scattered, and many of us are out of work. We want Niluka to have a dignified farewell.
Any help at all means a lot, and so do your prayers.
Anything left over after the funeral will be donated to the Galle hospice.

• Funeral home services and casket: $440
• Cemetery plot and burial fees: $330
• Transport of the deceased: $70
• Memorial gathering for the family: $60
