A community garden: a volunteer-led effort in San Cristóbal de las Casas
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a community garden - we need $250 for materials.

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a community garden. This year a group of 19 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Baobab health centre yard, but no funding.
We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $250.
It will serve about 546 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in February and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $250 goes:
• Safety equipment and signage: $90
• Permits and inspections: $65
• Tools hire and delivery: $95
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

Can I help in a way that isn't money? I'm near San Cristóbal de las Casas
Thank you. If you're in San Cristóbal de las Casas I'll say if something practical comes up. For now sharing this is great. Good question.
Sending love, Francisco. Looking forward to the next update. Greetings from Port Harcourt!
Rooting for you, Francisco. Shared it with a few friends. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Thinking of San Cristóbal de las Casas.
