I coordinate donations at the Lotus Community Church in Benin City. Every year around this time we hear from families who have nothing warm for their children, and this year demand has more than doubled. We're collecting clean, gently used or new coats, boots, hats, gloves and scarves in sizes 2 to 14 years. If you're in Benin City, we can arrange a pick-up or you can drop things at the Lotus Community Church on Tuesday between 9am and 4pm. If you're elsewhere, you may offer to sponsor a coat through a local shop - message in the comments and we can coordinate. Items go to families directly and the rest to the the Lotus Community Church clothing bank, which is open to everyone. Thank you for reading my story.

I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Greetings from Nuremberg.

So sorry you're going through this, Uche. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I went through something like this 9 years ago and strangers helped me out. Greetings from Sukkur.

                  • Sending good thoughts, Uche. Shared it with a few friends. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected.

                    • Keep going, Uche. A secure home matters so much. Hope you're settled soon. Wish I lived closer to Duisburg so I could bring a meal. Take care.

                      • Hang in there. This could happen to any of us. After 9 years in engineering I know how hard it's to ask for anything.
