Help Perla keep the the Sunday Shelf pantry stocked
Help keep a free food pantry open for families facing hunger in Caloocan.

Since 2023, our volunteer team has run the Sunday Shelf every Tuesday from the back of the old library basement. We started with 14 families, and now we feed 131 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 43% this winter, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 20 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Caloocan market and keep every receipt.
Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $400 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $165
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $105
• Baby formula and diapers: $50
• Refrigeration and electricity: $80
Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.
Updates from Perla
