Zawadi Nyambura Kioko

Tabla and sitar teacher

  • 🇰🇪 Embakasi, Nairobi, Kenya
  • Embakasi Ensemble
  • Since 2005
  • English
I play tabla and sitar. I started in 2005 with a secondhand instrument and a lot of stubbornness. I teach about 13 students a week. Some of them are better than me now, which is the whole point. I paint watercolors of whatever is outside the window. I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.

More about Zawadi

I write my first song when I was 15. It was terrible and I still love it.
