Winter coats and boots for 28 children at Acacia Refugee Centre in Oakland
A simple way to help: donate warm clothing for kids at Acacia Refugee Centre.

I coordinate donations at Acacia Refugee Centre in Oakland. Every year around this time we hear from families who have nothing warm for their children, and this year demand has more than doubled.
We're collecting clean, gently used or new coats, boots, hats, gloves and scarves in sizes kids' 3 to 5 and women's S-L. If you're in Oakland, we can arrange a pick-up or you can drop things at Acacia Refugee Centre on Saturday between 10am and 4pm.
If you're elsewhere, you may offer to sponsor a coat through a local shop - message in the comments and we can coordinate.
Items go to families directly and the rest to the Acacia Refugee Centre clothing bank, which is open to everyone.
Glad we found this place.

Thanks for sharing this, Hudson. A secure home matters so much. Hope you're settled soon. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. Take care
So sorry you're going through this, Hudson. I hope things turn around soon. Greetings from Bengaluru.

This could happen to any of us. We're a small family in Gwagwalada but we're thinking of you. Thinking of Oakland.
Hope things get better soon. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Put this on a community board in Leeds this morning.
I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Thinking of Oakland
