Build a wheelchair ramp for Jemima in Accra
Jemima uses a wheelchair and can't leave the house because of three steps at the door; we need a few hours of carpentry.
🇬🇭 Greater Accra, Ghana585 views
Jemima has used a wheelchair since 2023, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Jemima can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the building-code slope requirement, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate ten hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Jemima's family will cook lunch for the team.

Rooting for you, Ekow. Your post was clear and honest. I went through something like this 3 years ago and strangers helped me out.
