Weekly meals for families and seniors in Tangier
The the Thursday Table pantry in Tangier is running low just as demand rises; $750 will stock it for 8 weeks.

Since 2023, our volunteer team has run the Thursday Table every Friday from the back of a borrowed garage. We started with 25 families, and now we feed 165 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 51% this winter, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 19 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Tangier market and keep every receipt.
Each $10 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $750 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $380
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $220
• Baby formula and diapers: $115
• Refrigeration and electricity: $35
Every share and every dollar helps.

Can I help in a way that isn't money? I'm near Tangier.
Thank you. If you're in Tangier I'll say if something practical comes up. For now sharing this is great. It helps to be asked.
Thanks for sharing this. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. My brother had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. All the best
This could happen to any of us. Wish I lived closer to Abbottabad so I could bring a meal. God bless.
sending good thoughts. Great idea, hope you get there. I'm in public service myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. Blessings.
Rooting for you, Samir. More neighborhoods should do this. Take care.
Shared it with a few friends. Greetings from Sydney.
