The roof at Zalak's home is failing; materials are donated and we need hands.

I'm a disabled veteran living in Jalandhar. During the last storm water started coming through the ceiling in 4 places, and the living room is no longer usable. A roofer quoted $590, which isn't something I can pay. The good news: a local hardware store has donated the tiles and battens. What I don't have is people to do the work. I'm looking for a small crew who can help over one long weekend. Experience helps, but it isn't essential - I'll have a licensed roofer supervising for safety. All you need is to be comfortable with heights or willing to help from the ground. I'll provide lunch, water and lots of thanks. The work will be done on the ground and roof with proper harnesses. If you can only help for a few hours, that's welcome too. If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.

  • Rooting for you, Zalak. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. All the best.

    • Wishing you the best, Zalak. Gave what I could, wish it was more.

      • Sending strength. I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together. Greetings from Wudil.

        • Stay strong, Zalak. Hope you get there. After 12 years in logistics I know how hard it's to ask for anything
