Volunteers needed to fix a leaking roof for Yanti in Jakarta
The roof at Yanti's home is failing; materials are donated and we need hands.

I'm a retired bus driver living in Jakarta. During the last storm water started coming through the ceiling in 3 places, and the kids' bedroom is no longer usable. A roofer quoted $820, which isn't something I can pay.
The good news: a local hardware store has donated the tiles and battens. What I don't have is people to do the work. I'm looking for 4-6 people who can help over three weekday mornings.
Experience helps, but it isn't essential - I'll have a licensed roofer supervising for safety. All you need is work boots and a hat. I'll provide lunch, water and lots of thanks.
The work will be done on the ground and roof with proper harnesses. If you can only help for a few hours, that's welcome too.
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

Sending love, Yanti. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Thinking of Jakarta.
Sending strength, Yanti. Rent stress is the worst. Hope this helps. It's not much but it's yours. Thinking of Jakarta.
Good luck. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Wish I lived closer to San Jose so I could bring a meal. Thinking of Jakarta.
