Let's build a covered market stall space together in Benin City
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a covered market stall space - we need $550 for materials.
🇳🇬 Benin City, Edo, Nigeria2,136 views
For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a covered market stall space. This year a group of 26 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Liberty community hall, but no funding.
We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $550.
It will serve about 150 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $550 goes:
• Tools hire and delivery: $75
• Materials: $430
• Permits and inspections: $45
