Standing with Robert: thyroid cancer treatment costs

Robert was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in March. The oncology team at Mississauga Regional Medical Center has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in July. He will be away from work for about 5 weeks. Robert is 49, worked as a taxi driver until March, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Mississauga Regional Medical Center 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
