Volunteers needed to fix a leaking roof for Nyambura in Mombasa
The roof at Nyambura's home is failing; materials are donated and we need hands.

I'm a home-care aide living in Mombasa. During the last storm water started coming through the ceiling in 3 places, and the kitchen is no longer usable. A roofer quoted $710, which isn't something I can pay.
The good news: a local hardware store has donated the tiles and battens. What I don't have is people to do the work. I'm looking for anyone handy who can help over three weekday mornings.
Experience helps, but it isn't essential - I'll have a licensed roofer supervising for safety. All you need is work boots and a hat. I'll provide lunch, water and lots of thanks.
The work will be done on the ground and roof with proper harnesses. If you can only help for a few hours, that's welcome too.
Thanks for being kind about this.

Thinking of you, Nyambura. I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together. After 8 years in teaching I know how hard it's to ask for anything.
