Volunteers needed to fix a leaking roof for Hossain in Durgapur
The roof at Hossain's home is failing; materials are donated and we need hands.

I'm a single mother of three living in Durgapur. During the last storm water started coming through the ceiling in 2 places, and the kids' bedroom is no longer usable. A roofer quoted $510, which isn't something I can pay.
The good news: a local hardware store has donated the corrugated iron sheets and timber. What I don't have is people to do the work. I'm looking for three or four volunteers who can help over one long weekend.
Experience helps, but it isn't essential - I'll have a licensed roofer supervising for safety. All you need is work boots and a hat. I'll provide lunch, water and lots of thanks.
The work will be done on the ground and roof with proper harnesses. If you can only help for a few hours, that's welcome too.
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

rooting for you. I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day.
Stay strong, Hossain. A secure home matters so much. Hope you're settled soon.
Best of luck. Hope you get there. Don't be hard on yourself for asking
I hope things turn around soon. Thinking of Durgapur.
Hope it all works out. Your post was clear and honest. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like.
