Every year the Free Bike Repair Day brings together 270 neighbors in Jinja. I help organize it with 6 other volunteers, and this year our numbers are down. We need people for registration, sorting donations and carrying boxes. Shifts are three hours long and you can pick the one that suits you. Food and drinks are provided for all volunteers. It's a fun day for all ages, and our goal is to keep it free. No experience is necessary - we'll brief everyone at the start of the day. If you can come with a friend, even better. Please say in the comments which shift works for you. I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

  • Good luck, Wambui. Your post was clear and honest. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected.

    • Thanks for sharing this. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend

      • Sending strength, Wambui. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. All the best!

        • Praying for you, Wambui. More neighborhoods should do this. Blessings

          • you're not alone, Wambui. Gave what I could, wish it was more. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Take care.
