Biratnagar

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a solar-powered water pump. This year a group of 19 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Jacaranda community hall, but no funding. We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $500. It will serve about 272 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $500 goes: • Tools hire and delivery: $75 • Materials: $370 • Safety equipment and signage: $55 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support. - Sudip

Updates from Sudip

Update from Biratnagar: I made the first payment toward tools hire and delivery. We're at 42% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.
