Jomar was diagnosed with a hernia that has become strangulated in June. The surgeon at Davao City Regional Medical Center recommended valve repair surgery, and He is scheduled for August. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $880, and after what my employer's plan will pay we're still $700 short.
my husband has been in and out of Davao City Regional Medical Center since June. The doctors say a hernia that has become strangulated will get worse without valve repair surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $880 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Jomar struggles with daily life and can't work a full shift. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 6 weeks. During that time Jomar won't be able to work a full shift, so the costs keep growing.
