I served fourteen years in the medical corps and was discharged in 2024 with a back injury. I have been waiting eleven months for support, and meanwhile I'm sleeping at my brother's place. I have a plan: a trained service dog and handler course. The quote I have comes to $600. I'm receiving counseling through the veterans' clinic and am committed to my recovery. Structure and a stable place to live are the missing pieces. I'd be grateful for any help and will share updates on how I'm doing. I'll post invoices, with personal details hidden. Where the $600 goes: • Training provider fees: $310 • Housing deposit and first month: $180 • Transport to appointments: $40 • Essential household items: $70 Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly. - Vijay

Updates from Vijay

  1. Good news. Because of your gifts ($279 in total) the first invoice got paid this week. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

  2. Good news. Because of your gifts ($65 in total) I made the first payment toward transport to appointments. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

  3. Small update. $30 so far, I met with the provider and confirmed the amounts.
