Two weekends of roof repair for Elena, a single mother of three in Vancouver

Could you spare two Saturdays to help repair a leaking roof in Vancouver?

I'm a single mother of three living in Vancouver. During the last storm water started coming through the ceiling in 4 places, and the living room is no longer usable. A roofer quoted $2,300, which isn't something I can pay. The good news: a local hardware store has donated the roofing sheets and nails. What I don't have is people to do the work. I'm looking for a small crew who can help over two Saturdays. Experience helps, but it isn't essential - I'll have a licensed roofer supervising for safety. All you need is work boots and a hat. I'll provide lunch, water and lots of thanks. The work will be done on the ground and roof with proper harnesses. If you can only help for a few hours, that's welcome too. I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

  • Sending strength, Elena. Gave what I could, wish it was more. I'm in social work myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. Take care.

    • sending strength. Your post was clear and honest. We're a small family in San Nicolás de los Garza but we're thinking of you.

      • Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Thinking of Vancouver.

        • Thinking of you and your family, Elena. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Greetings from Erie.
