Keep a roof over Carolina's head in La Plata
A long illness left Carolina short on rent for 3 months; help us stay in our home.
🇦🇷 La Plata, Buenos Aires, Argentina1,611 views
After a car accident that kept me from work for 4 weeks, I fell 3 months behind on rent. Last Tuesday a court summons for non-payment was taped to my door, and the amount I owe is $1,000.
My landlord has been understanding for a while, but he has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by September, we must leave.
I have two young children at home. Moving isn't just an expense - it would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
I have started working weekend shifts, and I'm applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
The money will be paid directly to the landlord and I'll upload the receipt once it's done.
Where the $1,000 goes:
• Rent arrears (3 months): $660
• Late fees and court costs: $45
• Utilities in arrears: $65
• First month of rent as a buffer: $230
Every share and every dollar helps.

Can I help in a way that isn't money? I'm near La Plata.

a colleague of mine might know someone for this in Buenos Aires. I'll ask around and let you know
