Thiago has worked and saved for five years to study a master's in public health; a $1,950 gap now stands between him and graduation.

Thiago is the first person in the family to go to university. He is studying a master's in public health at São Paulo State College, and is two terms away from graduating. He has worked as a delivery rider to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $1,950.
The registrar has said Thiago can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Thiago has a 3.6 average, and a faculty supervisor has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Thiago would lose his place and scholarship eligibility.
Thiago isn't asking for a handout - He wants to finish what He started and help the next student.
The payment will go directly to the São Paulo State College bursar's office. I'll post the receipt.
Where the $1,950 goes:
• Outstanding tuition balance: $970
• Final term tuition: $880
• Exam and lab fees: $75
• Textbooks and materials: $25
Thanks for being kind about this.

Best of luck, Rosângela. This could happen to any of us. Put this on a community board in Swansea this morning. Thinking of São Paulo.
is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Thiago
It's all in the list in the story. outstanding tuition balance is the big one at $970, I'll post a receipt when it's paid. I'll keep the page updated.
