The river erosion hit the families of Harbor Lane on 12 September. My home was one of 71 damaged, and 8 families are still in temporary shelter at the sports club. The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming. Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before. We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy. We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates. Where the $850 goes: β€’ Roofing sheets and timber: $480 β€’ Clean water and purification supplies: $140 β€’ Tools and labor for repairs: $230 Thank you for reading my story. - Babu

Rooting for you, Babu. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Sent it to 26 people at work. Love from Makassar.

Thanks for sharing this, Babu. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Thinking of Narayanganj.

Keep going, Babu. Hope this works out for you. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. All the best.

I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Put this on a community board in Butwal this morning. God bless.
